Buyers Beware.

Like many internet classifieds and auction sites our classifieds can be targeted by fraudsters and scammers. Please be aware of this and be extremely careful when responding to emails, usually from Yahoo/Hotmail. Never send money or sell an item to someone you are unsure of. The favored scam is overpayment with a fraudulent cheque followed by a request to transfer the outstanding balance. The first email will contain some or all of the following:

“Hello,
How are you and everything over there.I just came across your advert for the item and i want to asure you that i am really interested in buying it. I have gone thru the features and it seems alright. Regarding the payment,i will be paying with a certified cshier's check issue by a UK Bank.
Kindly let me know if this is okay with you.I will need you to get back to me asap with your full name,contact address and phone number for the payment arrangement.
Regarding the shippment,i will make arrangement with my
shipper who will come for the pick up of the item. I hope to read back from you soonest.
