Astromod your Canon EOS 5D, 6D, 6DMKII with Baader's BCF 2 Filter

Do you have a Canon EOS 5D, 6D, or the newer 6D MKII full-frame DSLR and want to use it for astrophotography to capture even more detail in nebulae? Then the Baader's BCF 2 Full Frame Conversion Filter is what you need!

The Baader BCF 2 filter provides the camera sensor with a much better spectral transmission window, especially in the H-alpha region where many nebulae emit, over the standard "manufacturer fitted" filter. The filter replaces the manufacturer’s sensor filter, which means the original one needs to be removed. There are some online guides on how this is done, but there are some companies that offer this service if you feel that the “DIY” route is not for you.

The image below shows a Canon APS-C size camera with a Baader filter and the original Canon filter side by side in front of the camera. The two images behind the shows the benefit of using a BCF filter over the original filter – much more nebulosity can clearly be imaged and seen (left image).
