Baader Single Polarising Filters
- Baader one-piece 1.25" and 2" sized Polarising Filters
- Enhances contrast during planetary observation.
- For solar observation in conjunction with AstroSolar N.D 5.0 film or Baader Herschel Wedge
The Baader single polarising filter reduces brightness glare and enhances contrast during planetary observation. It also allows step-less brightness-control in combination with another single polarising filter or a Herschel Wedge. These filters are perfect for observing moon or planets, or for solar observations with AstroSolar Safety Film ND 5.0.
You can change the brightness if you rotate two single polarising filters against each other, to adjust the brightness according to your magnification. For example you can e.g. mount one 1.25" filter in a 1.25" eyepiece and a 2" filter in the 2"-to-1.25" reducer or the diagonal's 2" nosepiece.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OBSERVING THE SUN
Polarising and neutral density filters need additional filtering (for example, Herschel Prism or Astro Solar Safety Film) before the eyepiece of the telescope for observations of the sun. Using without the appropriate filters can cause damage to the these filters and eyesight. For solar observation with a Baader Herschel Wedge, the Herschel wedge already polarises the light, so that one single polarising filter positioned between the Herschel Wedge and eyepiece is sufficient.
