The Celestron AstroMaster refractor telescope is ideal if you are looking for a dual-purpose telescope for both terrestrial and celestial viewing
The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors. Each telescope is ready to use within minutes with their no-tool set up.
The AstroMaster mount is a manual German equatorial type and comes with two slow motion control knobs that allow you to make fine pointing adjustments to the telescope in both Right Ascension and Declination axes, also referred to as RA and DEC. A simple motor drive is also available as an optional extra to allow the telescope to track celestial objects as they move across the sky.
Accessories include a 20mm and 10mm eyepiece, erect image diagonal, and a finderscope. The two eyepieces offer different magnifications for low and high powered views.
You can download Celestron’s Starry Night Software, with its 10,000 object database and printable sky maps, and learn about the night sky, celestial objects, and how to plan your next observing session. Celestron Starry Night Software is the premier astronomy software package on the market, providing resources and knowledge to view our solar system and beyond.
