The Celestron NexImage Burst cameras let you capture high-resolution planetary, lunar and solar images and are ideal for those starting out on their Solar System astroimaging journey. The cameras are compatible with any computerised or non-computerised telescope equipped with a motor drive for tracking celestial objects.
There are two camera versions available:
- NexImage Burst Color is a one-shot color camera, allowing you to capture full-color images instantly. There's no need to image the same target multiple times to capture different colors. You also won't need to invest in filters and a filter wheel.
- NexImage Burst Monochrome is a monochrome camera where, to produce a colour image filters and preferably a filterwheel (e.g. Skyris filterwheel) are needed. However the mono cameras a more sensitive than their colour counterparts.
The Burst cameras use Aptina’s AR0132 sensor, an updated version of the popular MT9M034 sensor, that offers the perfect combination of speed, sensitivity, and value. You won’t find the Aptina AR0132 sensor for a better price anywhere than NexImage Burst.
Getting started with NexImage Burst is as easy as pointing your telescope at the Moon, Sun (with a suitable safe solar filter such as Baader AstroSolar film), or a planet and start recording a video sequence. For the sharpest possible images, NexImage Burst can record more than 120 frames per second when subframed (30 fps full frame).
The included software analyses each frame of video, throws away the ones affected by atmospheric turbulence, and perfectly aligns and stacks the best frames. The result is a bright, clear astroimage with impressive detail.
