Description

Starizona's HyperStar lens system for astrophotography is based on Celestron's innovative Fastar feature which allows the telescope's secondary mirror to be easily removed from Celestron's Schmidt-Cassegrain or Edge HD telescopes. By mounting the HyperStar lens assembly in place of the secondary mirror, a CCD camera can be mounted at the front of the telescope allowing for a very much wider field of view and for much faster imaging.

The HyperStar for the Celestron C6 is a perfect match for one-shot color CCDs like the Starlight Xpress SXVR-H674C and to video systems such as the Stellacam or Mallincam. It is possible to capture up to a 2.2-degree field of view at an amazingly fast f/1.9 which is an incredible 30 times faster than the standard f/10 focal ratio! Images can be obtained in just seconds!

The HyperStar lens assembly works with a variety of cameras with different cameras requiring different adaptors and one adaptor is included as standard. Please specify the camera being used when ordering from the drop down list. If you do not see your camera please contact us. The camera adaptor allows use of 1.25" filters to be used (e.g. for narrowband mono imaging).

A holder (already attached to the HyperStar lens) is included for safe storage of the secondary mirror while imaging.
